Welcome to CSU Chico’s ASCE Steel Bridge Team!

We are incredibly excited to compete in the upcoming ASCE’s Student Steel Bridge Competition. For the event, we are designing, fabricating, and then building a scale-model steel bridge capable of holding at least 2,500 lbs and spanning 20 feet. Developing the Next Generation of Engineers

The Student Steel Bridge Competition (SSBC) is the perfect opportunity to turn classroom concepts into practical experience. During this time, we will be practicing hard skills such as:

However, real life is not an isolated academic test and instead challenges us with the complexities of working with other engineers and professionals, the public, and the government. The SSBC allows us to practice value soft skills that help us build a stronger community, whether it be on the field, in the office, or at community events.
